Prof. Meir Hemmo
Vice Provost
Prof. Meir Hemmo is a full professor at the Department of Philosophy, and Vice Provost at the University of Haifa. He received his PhD from the University of Cambridge in 1996 in philosophy of physics (foundations of quantum mechanics). Postdoc 1995 in the Hebrew University; 1996 in Tel-Aviv University; 1997 Ben-Gurion University. In 1998 I joined the philosophy department at the University of Haifa. In 2006 I spent a year (sabbatical) at Columbia University.
His work is divided into two threads: In philosophy of physics he focus mainly on the conceptual foundations of quantum mechanics and statistical physics. In philosophy of mind he focus on the mind-body question and the thesis of physicalism.
