Mr. Avi Gelberg was born in 1962 in Haifa where his parents still reside.  He is a Technion graduate in Mechanical Engineering and speaks Portuguese, English and Hebrew.

Avi is the CEO of Group SYL, which owns companies and plants manufacturing and marketing auto parts.  SYL exports to South America, North America, Europe and the Middle East.  He also owns two restaurants in São Paulo. 

He presides over both the Maccabi organization in Brazil and the Hebraica club in São Paulo and is a prominent member of the Israeli and Jewish communities of São Paulo.

Avi is married to Denise who is also a Technion graduate in Biotechnology and Food Engineering. 

He is a devoted Zionist who visits Israel 4-5 times a year.  He supports many Israeli related causes such as Keren Hayesod-UIA, Stand With Us and the IDF Disabled Veterans Organization.

Avi lives in São Paulo with his wife Denise and their three children.
