Dr. Michal Amir Salkin
Chair of the Board of Governors

Dr. Michal Amir Salkin has over 30 years of experience with healthcare and medical education.
Michal taught at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles after retiring from her Obstetrics & Gynecology practice. She earned her MD from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University, then trained at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She built and ran a private clinical practice, taking pride in educating her patients about their bodies, developing babies, medical concerns, and options for care. She was on-staff at the UCLA Geffen Medical Center, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, St. John’s Medical Center, and Century City Hospital in Los Angeles.
In addition to patient care and medical education, Michal has developed protocols for and run clinical drug trials, and she serves as an advisor to Walden Ventures on biotechnology investments.
Michal was recently appointed Chair of the University of Haifa’s Board of Governors, becoming the first woman to hold this prominent role. Through her leadership, she aims to advance and develop the University’s Herta and Paul Amir School of Medicine—named in honor of her parents—as a leading force in medical education and community-building in Israel’s North.
Michal and her husband, Kenneth Salkin, have two children.
