Prof. Leah Peretz is the Dean of the School of Design.

Prof. Perez pioneered the field of fashion design education in Israel and is recognized as a leader in this field, both in Israel and internationally. As head of Shankar’s Department of Fashion Design for 22 years, She developed innovative and interdisciplinary programs of study that have won worldwide recognition. She was one of the first to link design, art, engineering and technology, and to establish interdisciplinary frameworks of education.

Prof. Perez served as a lecturer in the History of Art and History of Ceramics at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem from 1988 to 1999. She then became the Head of the Department of Fashion Design at the Shenkar College of Engineering, Design, and Art in Ramat Gan, a position she held from 1994 to 2003. Between 2003 and 2006, she worked as the Cultural Attaché at the Israeli Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. Returning to Shenkar in 2006, she resumed her role as the Head of the Department of Fashion Design, continuing her leadership there until 2019.
